MM83: Have a Hunch.com, Twitter Aids Iran and Mapquest’s Mobile App Arrives

Hunch.com launched today as one of the first decision engines in the internet world. Instead of just searching for words like a Google or doing mathematical computations like a Wolfram-Alpha, Hunch asks you a series of personality questions and then makes a determination of who you really are. Then, with the question you ask, Hunch tells you what you should do (i.e. Where should I move to? Answer: Texas). Try it out – it’s free and it’s just one piece of a new wave of technology that will forever change the web in the Moxie Mo’s opinion.

Twitter had a 90 minute planned outage for tonight but due to several thousand Iranian Tweeples, Twitter decided to push back the much needed server maintenance until tomorrow night. Why? We tell you in the show and you will begin to see why Twitter is truly becoming much more than a silly little social network. It has power, my friends… and that’s moxie.

Last but not least, Mapquest finally decided to get into the mobile apps game and they’ve released two free versions – one for the Apple iPhone and one for Blackberrys. We discuss the pros of this new app and why it rivals Google Maps, but what are your thoughts? Would you really break your Google Maps addiction for a similar software competitor that isn’t offering anything especially better or more appealing? Not so moxie.

Thanks to our awesome sponsor, SquareSpace, for sponsoring this episode and thank YOU for participating in their “Give an iPhone away every day for 30 days” campaign. You guys rock and I truly appreciate all of your support with all of our sponsors.
