I was a big Obama supporter, even though my entire office was pro McCain. I am a little upset by the news nationwide about the marriage proposals. In Florida it was called the Marriage Protection Act. I know in California it was Prop 8. I am worried that some people that don't understand voting think you have to fill everything out. I left some of my ballot blank because I wasn't well enough informed. At least one friend of mine misread the Marriage Protection Act and voted for it. When I explained what it really meant, she was horrified that she made the mistake. Imaging how many other people did the same thing. Why is government all about limiting human rights. I think there should be two separate things here. Their should be marriage for the religious types, and it should have NOTHING to do with government. It should just be a religious ceremony. Then there should be civil unions for governmental purposes. Not just for gay couples, but for straight couples as well.
