109: Apple vs TV Cable, Twitter Peek, Moxie Satellite, Droid 2 Commercial

The biggest news to hit the tech world this week (thus far) belongs to Apple. Reports claim that Apple has been in talks with all the major TV networks (channels) for their very own TV subscription service via iTunes. Instead of paying, on average, $80 per month for a Time Warner Digital Cable Bill, you may only pay $20/month for a subscription service and get to pick and choose your very own channels – this would make Gossip Girl go XOXO in a heartbeat. Check out the details in our episode!
On the contrary, everyone is also talking about THE DUMBEST tech gadget called TwitterPeek – and just wait until you see this $200 gadget. Yes, it’s real… Yes, it’s real… Yes, it’s real….
Also, on November 1st, the Europeans were successful in launching a state of the art satellite that will orbit our planet for three to five years to finally and hopefully answer the decade old question: is global warming REALLY happening by man or is it simply climate change and the polar bears are just out of luck? Wait until you see what this moxie lil’ satellite can do.
Last but certainly not least, we already showed you the hottest smart phone that’s being dubbed the “real iPhone killer” – the Droid. Well, they just made another commercial for it that is literally THE BOMB. Check this out… can’t wait!

Meh, that new AppleTV subscription service may not be for everyone, especially not something that would be a cable TV replacement. I’m thinking along the lines of live sports, etc.

Obiwan – I never thought about that… but maybe Apple has? In this day and age with live videostreaming, I know that Apple has that technology. Again, keep in mind, this will NOT be a part of Apple TV (the actual unit). It’s all through iTunes so anyone with iTunes (Windows users, etc) will have this subscription service.
But you bring up a great point – what about live breaking news? Presidential speeches? Live anything? Good point!

While I like a bodily keyboard, after coping with the Samsung Captivate for approximately quarter-hour, it is onerous to move back. Presently I’m debating whether or not to go to Verizon for the Droid X, cross to Dash for the EVO, or stay with AT&T for the Captivate…selections, decisions.
